Fragmented perception in a booming city 

Explosive Austin city growth meant newcomers had never heard of ZACH, while long-time patrons saw only single shows or summer camps. The theater’s full promise was in the dark. 

Putting light at the center

Audience insight revealed a hunger for belonging and a unique ability to cut through. We put “Light” at the center, not just as a visual cue, but as a metaphor for how ZACH brings levity and insight to everyone’s story.

One brand, many expressions

We created a living identity: a fluid Light Line, bold color pairings and a brand system that moves beyond the stage to encapsulate a campus, classrooms, and an entire community, linking every experience in one luminous ecosystem.

A cultural beacon re-energized

ZACH now resonates city-wide as Austin’s beacon of light, welcoming everyone in, just as they are. The new brand energized staff, unified siloed teams and inspired new brand experiences. The first season after the launch, the brand saw sold-out shows and multiple extended runs.
